Get hooked on Chess - a game that promotes logical thinking, problem solving, and foresight! In this class, we emphasize sportsmanship over competitive elements to get our kids excited about chess.   Kids learn strategies, openings, solve chess diagrams and puzzles. Class will consist of instruction time followed by playing time with each other and with the instructor. We emphasize a cooperative environment, and learning positive social skills.  Min 12, Max 20

These one-hour weekly classes are a perfect and fun opportunity to introduce children to new ingredients. Each meal is prepared together as a class with organic/vegetarian/ gluten-free/nut-free ingredients. We will recreate favorite dishes that are nutrient-dense and delicious, and simple enough to make at home.  Students will learn about kitchen and knife safety. Min 10, Max 12

In this multi-medium Crafts class  students will explore making different types of crafts in a fun and relaxing environment, and get to take what they made home. Some classes will develop on previous week's skills while most classes are completed in one session. Developing dexterity and hand-eye coordination, sample activities (depending on age) include : Soap making, Macrame, Clay work, Beading, Felting, String Art, Paint Pours, Crochet, Wood work, Painting, Jewelry Making, Paper Crafts, and more!  Materials included. In this 90-minute class, students are introduced to the fundamentals of design and engineering.  Students will crank up their imagination and put their engineering skills to work as they build projects.  Projects are rotated seasonally to ensure that both new and returning students can explore the endless creative possibilities of the LEGO® building system.  Min 12, Max 18

Junior Alchemists conjure a snake using only sugar and baking soda, pass secret messages in invisible ink, and cause a volcanic eruption to rival Pompeii; you'll perform all these experiments and more, while learning the scientific principles behind them!
