$100 | 3/23/2020 | 12.45-3.45pm | 7th Grade only | Min 10, Max 18 The HSPT Diagnostic Assessment is designed to evaluate how prepared your 7th grader is for the HSPT. It is modeled after the actual HSPT and will be timed exactly as the HSPT. Students will take home the assessment test booklet and their graded scantron sheets, 2 workbooks, and suggestions for further preparation for the HSPT. Students will learn to build a variety of toys and use them to demonstrate major scientific concepts such as energy, electricity, light, gravity, motion, friction, magnetism and simple machines. Basic dance steps are introduced with an appreciation of the Hip-Hop movement from Popping, Locking and Break Dancing to current popular movement. Students will learn basic concepts and apply them by building and programming a LEGO robot to perform specific tasks through a hands-on approach. We kick off with Winter Birdhouses and a Sporty Snowboard. Over this session, students will learn perspective and personality as they complete a Llama lesson, cute Penguins and their own version of American Gothic. Students will discover how to control rhythm, tempo, and volume, and how to express themselves artistically. The guitar skills learned in this class will allow anyone to play any style of music.
